Cowen Group has onboarded the first customers to its newly-launched international prime brokerage business following an extensive acquisition and hiring campaign.
The platform, based in London, offers securities lending and margin financing facilities, as well as custody and trade execution services on both a cash and swaps basis.
Clients can also utilise the platform's portfolio reporting, complete operational support and access to Cowen鈥檚 research, industry conferences.
Kevin LoPrimo, who joined Cowen as managing director and head of international prime brokerage in June, said: 鈥淎s we onboard our first UK and Europe-based clients, our goal is to deliver the comprehensive prime brokerage and outsourced trading solutions that have satisfied our clients鈥� needs in the US for many years.鈥�
鈥淭his offering will provide local managers with a comprehensive, high calibre offering at a time when larger bank-owned prime brokers are curtailing their support of hedge funds.鈥�
Cowen completed a series of prime brokerage-related acquisitions last year, including Conifer 网爆吃瓜 and Concept Capital.
