Michael Summerhayes has left UniCredit Bank, where he spent more than 17 years as a director.

Based in London, he served as desk head for securities finance and repo across institutional accounts and banks, including prime brokerage houses.

He was also responsible for servicing the refinancing and short coverage needs for the firm’s equity derivatives business, including equity capital markets and structured quality desks.

Prior to his time at UniCredit, Summerhayes spent almost eight years as director of equity finance at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, managing a team of sales traders on the equity financing desk, and speaking to institutional accounts and banks, including prime brokerage houses and hedge funds.

He has also worked as a collateral manager at Credit Suisse First Boston, and at Chemical Bank (now merged with Chase Manhattan Bank).

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wales.
