OCC average daily loan value rises 24.4% for August

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) has reported a 24.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) jump in average daily loan value for securities lending trades, generating US$226.4 billion for August.

Total securities lending transactions cleared on the OCC platform for the same month decreased 5.14 per cent YoY to 312,913.

In terms of all futures and options cleared through the organisation, the total volume was up 14.4 per cent YoY to 1.4 billion contracts for August.

OCC also experienced a 35.3 per cent YoY hike in ETF options contracts for the month to 579.1 million, and a 16.9 per cent YoY rise in index options contracts to 122.4 million.

Equity options volumes increased 1.9 per cent YoY to 739 million for the month of August. However, cleared futures contracts dropped 24.9 per cent YoY to 3.4 million.
