OCC average daily loan volume rises 29.7% for April

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) has reported a 29.7 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in average daily loan value for securities lending trades, generating US$226.9 billion for April.
Total securities lending transactions cleared on the OCC platform for the same month decreased 14.2 per cent YoY to 278,706.
In terms of all futures and options cleared through the organisation, the total volume was up 13.6 per cent YoY to 1.45 billion contracts for April.
OCC also experienced a 19.5 per cent YoY increase in equity options contracts for the month to 723 million, and a 23.8 per cent YoY rise in index options contracts to 133.6 million.
ETF options volumes increased 5.8 per cent YoY to 589.3 million, while cleared futures contracts fell by 28.4 per cent YoY to 4.64 million.
