Eurex Repo trading volumes rise 24% YoY for August

Trading volumes on Eurex Repo have increased 24 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to €470.6 billion for August, in average term-adjusted volume (TAV).
This was driven by a 19 per cent YoY rise in GC Pooling average TAV to €260.1 billion, and a 30 per cent YoY increase in special repo average TAV to €210.4 billion.
For OTC derivatives clearing, notional outstanding volumes have increased 25 per cent YoY for the month, to €56,187 billion.
Growth in this area can be credited to YoY increases in notional outstanding volumes for interest rate swaps (22 per cent, €23,734 billion) and overnight index swap clearing (71 per cent, €10,046 billion).
Average daily cleared volumes through Eurex Clearing have risen 14 per cent YoY for August to €344 billion.
This includes a 40 per cent YoY rise in average daily cleared volume for interest rate swaps to €51 billion, and a 106 per cent YoY jump in overnight index swaps average daily cleared volume to €57 billion.
