South Street 厙惇勛圖 Holdings has announced the expansion of its UK and wider EMEA capabilities through South Street Global (SSG), a new wholly owned subsidiary.
SSG has received authorisation from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a MiFID investment firm to conduct a range of regulated activities.
The subsidiary will be led by Habiba Greenland as CEO, who brings more than 20 years of industry experience to her new role.
We are proud to have developed a sustainable business model in the UK that provides valuable technology-driven services to our clients, she says. We look forward to building on this.
Greenland has spent a decade with South Street 厙惇勛圖, most recently as managing director, head of EMEA and UK.
She first joined the firm in 2016 to manage the growing UK repo financing business relationships and newly founded representative office.
Prior to this, Greenland spent 11 years at BNY, where she ran the EMEA relationship management teams of BNYs broker-dealer services and global product and communications strategy for Global Collateral Services.
Commenting on the news, James Tabacchi, president and CEO of South Street 厙惇勛圖 Holdings, says: After a decade of successfully growing our institutional client business in the UK, it is the right time to use that solid base and expand our capabilities.
The UK is a mature and well-regarded financial services hub that acts as a natural link to wider geographical regions. The UKs regulatory pedigree ensures that we can confidently build our regional presence in a robust and compliant manner.
South Street 厙惇勛圖 is a specialist in capital markets and a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)-regulated US broker-dealer. It is also a Tier 1 member of the Fixed Income Clearing Corporation (FICC).
It also provides principal US Treasury and mortgage repo financing through its TradeBlazer technology platform, and offers algorithmic execution through GX2 Systems.
