STG Group, a multi-asset trading firm specialising in systematic and quantitative strategies, has launched its new broker-dealer business division, STG Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï.
Positioning the new firm as a comprehensive electronic market maker and global trading firm, STG Group says the broker-dealer will build on the group’s existing technology, quant expertise, and capital to provide competitive liquidity across exchanges and partnerships.
Founded in 2022, STG Group has steadily expanded its trading operations across markets.
In 2024, the firm acquired Automated Volatility Trading (AVT) — formerly a US options group at Barclays and later part of GTS — to bolster its systematic options capabilities, consolidating AVT’s trading operations into STG Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï.
STG Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï is to be led by Kirill Gelman, who has overseen the strategy for over 20 years at the aforementioned predecessor firms.
STG Group supplies risk-bearing capital and advanced quantitative methodologies to identify and manage opportunities in real time, while STG Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï will contribute deep market expertise and provide liquidity on-exchange to a range of market participants.
