EquiLend has appointed Brandon Shapiro as vice president, equity finance trader.

Based in New York, Shapiro joins the firm from a short stint at Citi, where he took on the role of vice president.

Previously, he spent more than six years at Barclays, most recently as assistant vice president within the firm’s prime services business as a securities lending trader.

Shapiro first joined Barclays in 2021 as an onboarding manager, where he facilitated the end-to-end onboarding process for institutional clients across a variety of asset classes including fixed income financing, securities lending, and equities.

Earlier in his career, Shapiro was a risk, regulation, and compliance consultant for FDM, a global business and technology consulting firm.
