Following a 37-year-long career in the financial industry, Adam Goddard has retired and will now pursue personal endeavours such as travelling.
Based in London, he was most recently positioned as senior manager at Forvis Mazars US, a professional services firm that provides audit, tax, and advisory services.
Goddard has held positions at a number of firms, most notably at BNY, where he was positioned for a total of 14 years over two separate periods.
During his time with the New York bank, he took on senior positions such as EMEA head of relationship management for collateral management, and senior relationship manager for Global Collateral Services.
Goddard has also worked at HSBC Global Banking and Markets as a contractor of collateral treasury, at FIS as senior sales executive, and at Goldman Sachs as executive director.
In an online statement, Goddard states: Its been an amazing journey and I reflect on it with great pride, fondness and also amazement at the many different phases the financial services sector has gone through from numerous crises to extraordinary technological changes.
With regards to the latter I started in a time of paper when an auto transfer meant looking in a diary, writing a debit and credit voucher and passing it across the desk to a team to process.
Then Microsoft landed and changed the working environment forever and it will be fascinating to hear how digital and AI will transform daily routines and processes in the very near future.
He concludes that the last 20 years of his career in the securities finance industry are the standout years.
Starting in 2005 at BNY Triparty when the business was small both in terms of balance and numbers of clients, Goddard notes that it was a wonderful experience to grow that business both with colleagues at BNY and a lot of great clients many of whom I will genuinely miss.
