BNP Paribas has announced a leadership transition within its Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services business.
Claudine Gallagher, the current head human resources officer for BNP Paribas CIB Americas, will become head of Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services globally, effective 1 January 2026.
At the same time, Patrick Colle will take on the position of executive chairman of Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services, in addition to his role as chairman of Financial Institutions Coverage (FIC).
Since its creation 30 years ago, the Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services business has become a core strategic pillar of the company, the firm says.
Gallagher will report to Colle and will join the leadership team of the firm’s Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business.
Prior to her new appointment, Gallagher oversaw employee relations, talent acquisition, leadership and development, and diversity initiatives as head human resources officer.
Simultaneously, she served as the conduct, compliance, and control officer for the Americas for BNP Paribas USA and CIB Americas. Furthermore, she has held a number of leadership roles at the firm, including as head of Americas for Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services.
Gallagher began her career in the business in Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services at J.P. Morgan, after a stint at Banque Paribas, she returned to J.P. Morgan where she led the Corporate Trust and the American depositary receipts (ADR) businesses.
Commenting on the transition, Yann Gérardin, chief operating officer and head of CIB at BNP Paribas, says: “Claudine brings a distinguished 30-year career in the banking industry, with deep management experience across both business and control functions, making her well-positioned to lead the next chapter of our business’ development.â€
“I have complete confidence in her ability to build on our existing strengths, leveraging our increasingly integrated bank model to further expand our Institutional client franchise and drive long-term growth.â€
Colle became CEO of Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services and chairman of FIC in October 2022 and was previously general manager of BNP Paribas Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services since May 2010.
He has more than 35 years of experience in the industry, of which 15 were spent with BNP Paribas’ Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services business.
Joining the bank in 2006 as head of custody and clearing product development, he later became head of BNP Paribas’ Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services UK in March 2008.
Before joining BNP Paribas, Colle worked with J.P. Morgan for 20 years, where he held several positions in cash management, securities clearing, and custody in Paris and New York, before becoming global head of ADRs based in London in 2001.
Gérardin adds: “I want to warmly thank Patrick for 15 years of exceptional leadership. His strategic vision supported by a talented and global team has made BNP Paribas Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services the industry leader it is today.
“As executive chairman of Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Services, Patrick will support Claudine as she transitions into her new role.â€
